30 Minute HIIT/Total Body Workout!
Class Description

Our workouts will be 30 Minute HIIT style workouts, which if you don’t know what that means- it stands for high intensity interval training. So basically, you’re going to go as hard as you can with each round of exercises given for three minutes and then you will take a 30 second “Active Rest” In between rounds. The active rest will change day to day but will be labeled at the top of each daily workout.

 

With our workouts; expect to challenge yourself, sweat a lot, and rise to your fullest potential. You will do 5 workouts per week and be given two days of rest. So if you are the type of person that likes to push yourself to the limit and enjoys a little challenge, our workout is for you! We also own a gym called AR1SE Fitness in Shelby on the corner of Kings rd where you are more than welcome to come in for your daily workout! We cant wait to start this journey with you!

Instructor Bio

Hey everyone! I’m Alex Blackburn and I will be one of your instructors, along with Shelly, as we embark on our journey with Imago Dei and our HIIT workouts. So, I’d like to give you a little insight on what my health journey has looked like. About 10 years ago, I was always trying to find my love for exercise, but I could just never stay committed! It was a priority problem. Now 5 years ago, when I gave birth to my daughter… my priorities began to align and I had something to motivate me to want to be a better version of myself; a healthier version of myself. I began my health journey at a gym called 9round that used to be open in Shelby, which was a HIIT style workout with kickboxing included. And now currently, I actually own a gym with Shelly, called Arise Fitness! So now, exercise is a HUGE part of my life. It is my biggest stress reliever and it has been life changing for me. I desire for everyone to feel the impact of what living a healthier life feels like- spiritually as well as physically! They go hand in hand. So, LETS DO THIS! Hi you guys!

 

My name is Shelly Walker. Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I became a trainer at 9 round, of Shelby, 5 years ago. When 9 round closed, I felt led to reopen a gym that mirrored that same style of kickboxing fitness. Two years ago, the opportunity was given to me. At that time, I was not financially able to open a gym. I had just recovered from being a kidney donor to my brother and I had just finished my masters. I prayed to God that if it was in his plans for me, he would make a way for me. God planted that seed and today we are going on two years at AR1SE Fitness. I have met so many great friends that I now call family. I have grown so much physically and spiritually. Being a trainer is not a job for me; it’s a fulfillment, as well as instant gratification, watching everyone grow in so many ways.
