Instructor Bio

Hi, I’m Megan Pope and am thrilled to be a part of your journey in reflecting the image of God – Imago Dei. My fitness journey started after years of hating clothes shopping and trying every fad diet. I longed to be active like during my athletic years. I was tired of being tired. So I jumped in at the local YMCA – starting with basic classes and building up the gumption to try every class. Through it, I found community. Others with similar goals and stories and whose encouragement kept me coming back week after week. I found myself moving from the back to the class to the front and now teaching classes as well as publishing a total health blog. My burdens lifted by 100 pounds, literally, and still counting. This made possible by a commitment to fitness that is centered around Christ. Luke 10:27 tells us to “love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.” That’s exactly what we are going to do in the weeks ahead. We are going to worship with our workouts. We are going to love each other in in this community. We are going to love ourselves by finally putting aside the instant gratification and committing to long-term results. Shoulder-to-shoulder, let’s go!
